A 56-year-old Georgia  woman has won half of the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot in U.S. history .  She already claimed her winnings and took the cash option, after taxes, that will be about $120 million. The winner is Ira Curry, of Stone Mountain. Yesterday she took her winning ticket to the lottery office. No quick picks for Ira, she chose a mix of family birthdays and the lucky number 7, and she only bought one ticket!!!!

Ira chose not to appear at the afternoon lottery announcement in Atlanta, so we get to see a lottery official.

Ira bought the ticket at the end of the day Friday and it was a last-minute decision, she bought it at a Gateway Newstand in an  an office building near Atlanta's Buckhead community.  We don't know where Ira worked or what she looks like. We do know she has a husband.

Lottery officials were surprised to see a winner so soon after the drawing.  It usually takes a while to get the affairs in order and plan the escape.

The other winning ticket was sold at a gift shop in San Jose, Calif. The winner there has one year to come forward.

Well our office pool did not win big but I still have to check the tickets to see if we won anything at all. Maybe I will have enough to buy us all pizza!

The winning numbers were 8, 14, 17, 20 and 39, with a Mega ball of 7.
