Road Construction Update, I-35 in Waco

Expect some delays this week if you are traveling through Waco on I-35.

I consider myself a little spoiled lately, as I've been deemed "essential" so I've been going to work every day during the pandemic. And yes, the roads have been easy to travel. No real traffic on I-35 to slow me down either to or from work on a daily basis. But here we are now with everybody starting to get back into the swing of our new normal and with that comes...the traffic. Yep, it's back, and pretty noticeably as well.

With the heavier traffic also comes the delays as road construction in North Waco and Bellmeade continues.

Don Smith with KWTX reports that the Texas Department of Transportation is letting us know that construction crews will be working nightly, this week, on the main lanes on that stretch of I-35 from 7p-6a.

Closures will be in place and detours will be marked but it's best to keep your speed slow or find alternate routes this week if you plan on traveling through Waco.
