KWTX is reporting that James Strahan, 33, of Lorena is the latest victim of I-35. He was struck last Saturday, and sadly, passed away Thursday at Baylor Scott & White in Temple.

Being a child of the 70s the word "safety" wasn't part of the national vocabulary. Kids and grownups would cross busy roads all time. It was just an everyday event. You would learn how fast you can run and how fast the cars whizzed past. If you didn't learn, well, the person behind would.

Of course, the roads back then were two lanes. Interstates these days can be up to eight lanes. Sadly the extra lanes seems to be having a negative effect.
