My Aunt Marianne bought me the song that was number one on this day in 1976. It was a Christmas present. It was C.W. McCall... "Convoy"

They made a movie called "Convoy" starring Kris Kristofferson and Ali MacGraw(NICE) I'm pretty sure some of the grown ups got the real mccoy as gifts. That would be CB radio's. Good thing to have out in the country. Just in case the Cell Phone fails. Which I'm sure it does back home. Because when my parents go visiting up north, I have to make my weekly call to them by phoning, what the old people call a "Land Line", because of a lack of cell service.

The song "Convoy" was a huge hit because of the CB language it used.

"Breaker 19, this here is the Rubber Duck. You got a copy on me Love Machine?'

"10-4 Pig Pen, for sure for sure. By golly it's clean clear to Taco Town."

All us kids were talking in CB talk for a few years. To this day if I'm playing Ping Pong, and the score is 10 to 4, it's announced 10-4 CB Score.

This song spent 6 weeks at number one on the Country Charts, and even topped the Pop Charts for a week. See, Country songs were crossing over to pop long before Florida Georgia Line.
