Woman Struck and Killed at Railroad Crossing in Little-River Academy
UPDATE: KWTX's Alex Cano reports that the woman was killed after stepping into the path of the oncoming train, which was traveling less than 40 miles per hour. The collision occurred around 9:00 AM. Union Pacific representatives say the woman did not appear to respond to warning devices, including the crossing arms.
A woman was struck and killed by a train at a railroad crossing in Little River-Academy this morning. The accident happened around 9 AM near West Main and Allison Street.
KWTX reports a Justice of the Peace was headed to the scene of the accident. At last check, the train was still stopped and blocking the crossing.
