Winning is great. Defeating the defending champions, and getting revenge from last year is sweet.

KWTX reports that UMHB has picked up their 2nd National Championship in 3 years.

It started out kind of shaky as Mount Union pulled out the trickery early with a fake punt. They were up 10-0 before UMHB could catch their breath.

But, as champions do, they calmed down and got down to business going up 14-13 at halftime.

They added some more points and held Mount Union to only a field goal in the second half. And after a wild lateral episode, they ended Mount Unions' 29 game winning streak and won their 2nd National Championship in 3 years, 24-16.

Mount Union was the kings of the Stagg Bowl for the 25 years it was held up in Salem, Virginia, as they won 13 championships. But now the Stagg Bowl is in Texas, so it's only right that a Texas team wins it. Hopefully the future holds even more championships for UMHB. Congratulations to all of the players and coach's for an amazing season.
