Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will make its ninth straight NCAA Division III National Championships appearance and its 11th in the last 12 years and the Cru will open the postseason at home after the announcement of the 32-team field this evening. UMHB will open the postseason at Tiger Field with a 12:00 PM kickoff on Saturday, November 17th, against American Southwest Conference rival Louisiana College (8-2, 5-1 ASC). Broadcast start time will be 11:30 AM on News Radio 1400 KTEM.

The Cru went 10-0 this regular season to post the third consecutive perfect regular season in school history and UMHB won the American Southwest Conference Championship with a 7-0 league record. UMHB will be opening the postseason at home for the sixth time in school history and the Cru will be facing LC for the second time this season. Louisiana College advanced to the NCAA postseason as the runner-up from the ASC and claimed an at-large berth in the postseason. The Wildcats are making their first NCAA postseason appearance. UMHB topped LC 30-3 earlier this season in Pineville, Louisiana.

“Of course we are excited to be in the playoffs and we know we have to be ready to face a very good opponent in Louisiana College,” Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg said. “I think our team learned a few things in the previous game and we know that we have to be ready to play. We can't afford a hiccup or stumble if we want to reach the goals this program has set for itself.”

The winner of the UMHB/Louisiana College game will advance to play the winner of the Adrian/Franklin opening round game. UMHB would likely host that game should the Cru win the playoff opener.

Tickets for the UMHB/Louisiana College game will go on sale to previous season ticket holders on Wednesday, November 14th, from 2:00-5:30 PM. Season ticket holders may also purchase tickets from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 15th. Tickets will go on sale to the general public Thursday afternoon from 12:00-5:30 PM and then on Friday, November 16th, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
