Two people are dead and three others injured after a traffic collision in Killeen.

KXXV-TV's Patrick Tolbert reports that the crash occurred near Chaparral Road and Soukup Lane. One of the vehicle reportedly ended up on its side.

One vehicle was being driven by a pregnant woman. She and two people from the second vehicle were taken to local hospitals - one of them a man who needed to be airlifted.

Two people in that second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Details about the crash were scare Wednesday evening.

Police have not commented upon a cause, and while we don't want to speculate, we do want to remind drivers to be cautious in the wet conditions. We're so used to area roads having been bone dry all summer.

Take your time while driving, share the road responsibly, and keep in mind that roadways are slick. If you see an area that appears to be flooded, turn around and find another route. Your vehicle can be swept away in mere inches of rain.
