Temple Wildcats Coaches Show Week 7

It's week seven of the Temple Wildcats football season, and they are about to reach the middle point of their rigorous district 18-5A schedule.

In this week seven edition of the Temple Wildcat Coaches Show, yours truly Oliver Stone and Temple Head Football Coach Scott Stewart discuss the victory over A&M Consolidated and the challenge coming this week.

The Temple Wildcats beat the A&M Consolidated Tigers 28-20 at Wildcat Stadium with a very unexpected beginning to the game. Your Temple Wildcats came out all systems go with an air raid attack throwing the ball all over the field. We have grown so accustomed to seeing the Wildcats staple of running backs handling the load of the offense, but T.J. Rumsfeld showed that his arm is more than capable of doing work as well.

The Temple Wildcats will be facing the Bryan Rudder Rangers this Friday, and it sounds like we may have a more formidable task at hand then the record may indicate The Bryan Rudder Rangers are 0-5 overall, 0-1 district. Coach Stewart and defensive coordinator Coach Farrell both stressed that this team is way better than they seem. Also, this team may bring an old school approach with their offense.

The Bryan Rudder Rangers offense is a true definition of smash mouth football. Hand in the dirt, I formation, powers, counters, and many more ground and pound tactics that may be a bit old fashioned to the offenses we see today. With myself being a standout defensive tackle at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, these are the kind of games that you have to love as a defensive lineman. Everything is really yours for the taking as long as you play your technique and read your keys.

The game will be at Merrill Green Stadium in Bryan,  and the game will kick off at 7:30 p.m.. If you are unable to make the trip to Bryan for the game, you cane tune into the KRock 101.7 broadcast to keep up with the game. The pregame show will begin at 7:00 p.m., and kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m..
