Hey Gang,

Did you enjoy the blast of snow and ice we got?  Of course you didn't.  No one does.  If people wanted to see snow and ice, they'd rent the movie "Fargo".  I had a few people come in to work and say, "You're going to have to warm up your car for about an hour to get the ice off the windshield".  I was done in 5 minutes.  Let me tell you the secret with a Big Q Tip.

You can see the section I cleared first.  The classic mistake people make is trying to scrape the whole thing.  It's a block of ice.  If you scrape the right side you're actually trying to move the whole thing.  You need to make section cuts.  If you scrape side to side, make the cuts up and down.

Now you're only trying to scrape off an inch of ice at a time instead of the whole windshield.  If you have an actual ice scraper, rare in Texas, you might have knuckle ridges on the back of the blade.  This is what they're for.  Couple of scrapes after you do this and you'll get this.

If you don't have an ice scraper, this works just as well.

Remember this lesson when this happens in Central Texas again...in two to three years.
