In every cloudy day a little sun will shine.

We all have universal memories from our school years. It's safe to say that this flooding in Houston will be tattooed on the memories of all the kids. Hopefully when they think back this will be one of the better ones.

KHOU is reporting that the Houston Independent School District will be giving all students free meals all school year.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, along with the Texas Department of Agriculture, waived the required application process for the National School Lunch/Breakfast Program.

"The flooding that is affecting the city of Houston has been devastating to so many. Some of the areas that are the hardest hit are filled with working parents whose limited funds will need to go toward recovery efforts. This waiver will give our families one less concern as they begin the process of restoring their lives. It will also provide a sense of normalcy by allowing students to have access to up to three nutritious meals each and every school day.”

The waiver will be in effect immediately, so whenever the kids can get back to normal school schedules this will be one less thing to worry about.
