A Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service until 7pm this evening for Bell County.

Most of central Texas will feel heat index values between 105 and 109 this afternoon. Stay hydrated and take several breaks if you are enjoying outdoor activities today. Heat exhaustion or heat stroke will be possible for those that work or play outside without shade or water.

Make sure your pets get plenty of water today as well. Anyone overcome by the heat should be moved inside to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency. If you think someone is suffering from the signs of heat stroke, call 9-1-1.

As we get closer to the first day of summer, temperatures look to stay in the upper 90's for the week ahead. Stay cool and stay safe. For the latest updates on the heat, you can check in with our partners at KWTX. They are monitoring the situation from the Doppler 10 Forecast Center throughout the weekend.
