Heat Advisory Issued for Bell County and Central Texas
Keep an eye on your neighbors and your pets today as the temperatures in central Texas will soar towards triple digits once again.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Bell County and portions of central Texas until 8pm this evening. The Advisory could be issued once again later in the week as the heat wave is expected to last into the weekend.
Anyone outdoors today could be at risk for heat exhaustion or heat stroke. This includes your pets. Never leave anyone in an enclosed vehicle on a day like today. Temperatures inside vehicles can reach dangerous levels very quickly. Nobody waits in the car (people or pets) on a day like today.
If you see someone experiencing heat exhaustion or heat stroke, please dial 9-1-1. Heat Stroke is absolutely an emergency.
Rain chances go up slightly for the weekend. A 20% chance for showers and thunderstorms begins Friday into Saturday. Rain chances Sunday and Monday are currently at 30%.
