Over 1,000 households and business in Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Harker Heights, Texas lost power after last week's storms that included extreme wind, hail, and flooding rain. So what can we expect for Central Texas weather before the time change on Sunday, November 6th?

Central Texas Storm Damage

According to the National Weather Service, golf-ball sized hail was reported from Killeen to Harker Heights. The Killeen Police Department responded to multiple calls of high water, traffic accidents, and damage from falling trees, and the Temple Police Department received over 100 weather-related calls during the storm. In Jarrell, an EF-1 tornado damaged multiple buildings including the Williamson County Emergency Service District No. 5 Fire Station, according to KVUE.

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell signed a local disaster declaration for Jarrell due to the tornado damage.

Halloween and Early November Forecast

For Monday, October 31st, KWTX is reporting that the weather will be perfect for outdoor Halloween events and trick-or-treating. A slight chance for rain returns on Tuesday, and then thunderstorm chances increase, with the best chances for stormy weather on Saturday, November 5th. The Farmer's Almanac predicts rain, but not thunderstorms, for Killeen, Texas and surrounding areas for the month of November 2022. However, the National Weather Service is currently predicting a 40% chance of thunderstorms starting Friday, November 3rd in their extended forecast for Bell County.
