Chili Day is TODAY in Belton
February is one of the colder months and it only makes sense that Chili Day is happening at First United Methodist Church of Belton!
What a deal! ALL YOU CAN EAT for $8! Aaron, Wes and I headed down there and had some tasty chili, enchiladas, gumbo and salad bar. For those who couldn't make it for lunch, they're doing it again at dinner.
The big debate: beans or no beans in Texas Chili. I used to be an adamant no when it came to beans, especially red kidney beans. Today, I still prefer a higher beef to bean ratio and I'm tolerant of black beans in my chili. Still I went for the no beans and added some onions and cornbread. Perfect on a cold day like today.
The folks from Belton's First UMC couldn't have been nicer. Mix and mingle with some fine folks.
