The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination continues, and now Central Texas CVS locations will have them starting February 11.

According to a report from our news partners at KWTX, 70 CVS pharmacies across the state will have 38,000 doses between them. Appointments are required for those eligible to receive the vaccine per the phases 1A and 1B vaccination plan issued by the State of Texas.

CVS locations in Waco, Abilene, Amarillo, Beaumont, Brownsville, El Paso, Houston, Laredo, Lubbock, Midland, Plano, and San Antonio will have the vaccine. Appointments can be made starting Feb. 9th.

CVS expects to get about 250,000 doses from the federal government. President and Chief Executive Officer of CVS Health Karen S. Lynch says, “Our presence in communities across the country makes us an ideal partner for administering vaccines in a safe, convenient, and familiar manner, this is particularly true for underserved communities, which have been a focus for us throughout the pandemic.”

CVS has 10,000 stores across the U.S. and says it can administer up to 25 million shots a month. H-E-B and Walmart are also prepping for vaccines to eligible Texans.

Don't forget, you can also get your flu shot at CVS. Experts are saying that getting the flu shot is even more important this year than in years past.
