Disclaimer: The photo above is NOT Temple. It is my town of Frost, Texas. I posted it to show that I, like many folks here in Temple, LOVE taking pictures of old, downtown, buildings. I haven’t had a chance to take pics of downtown Temple, so I love the fact that The Temple Main Street Program is welcoming a new photography exhibit entitled, Temple’s History – Expressions by Local Photographers.

According to a press release, the exhibit is comprised of the forty-six framed photographs that were submitted as entries in the Temple Architectural Appreciation Photography Contest held in May, and provides a great representation of Temple’s beautiful architectural heritage.

The photo contest was held as part of Temple’s community observance of National Preservation Month. This community education initiative of the National Historic Trust and the Texas Historical Commission is designed to draw public attention to the importance of preserving historic buildings.

This Friday( 9/13) , there will be a reception welcoming the exhibit from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum located at 315 W. Avenue B in downtown Temple.

For more information about this art reception please call Temple Main Street Program Manager, Dan Kelleher, at (254) 298-5378 or RSVP here.
