Bob Seger Postpones 2017 Tour Due to ‘Urgent Medical Issue’
Bob Seger has been forced to postpone all 19 dates of his current 2017 Runaway Train tour for an undisclosed amount of time due to an "urgent medical issue concerning his vertebrae."
While revealing the news on his official website, Seger said, “I’m so disappointed to have to suspend the tour as the band is on a great roll. It’s a privilege to play for our amazing fans. Hoping to be back out on the road very soon.”
No further details on Seger's medical issue are known at this time. However, when he first announced the postponement of this past Saturday's scheduled show in Columbus, Ohio, it was reported that the singer had "a pinched vertebrae in his neck and is not able to perform tonight’s show.”
The Runaway Train tour was announced back in May with a video featuring the words "one last time," prompting speculation that this will be Seger's farewell tour. But he has not formally stated that this is the case.
According to today's statement, rescheduled dates will be announced when available. Tickets sold for concerts that are being rescheduled will be honored at the new dates.
Seger recently revealed that he will be releasing a new album, I Knew You When, on Nov. 17.
