Lubbock may not have seen a tragedy such as the one that occurred this month in India, but the ride involved in the accident which killed two and injured dozens more is one that local amusement park goers may recognize.

The fear of such an accident looms large for those who avoid the thrill of being swung through the air on the pendulum-like amusement park ride, but after watching the video posted by Twitter user @shishir1986, it appears that the fear is quite warranted.

Most people attend amusement parks for the thrill of rides that defy gravity, but with this sort of tragedy, it seems that it also defies logic to risk death simply for some fun.
