In the past few days, we've heard about this viral phenomenon known as Brad and his wife, a former employee of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurant who had been fired after 11 years. Brad took the liberty of asking the company on social media why the company fired his wife. Then all hell broke loose.

I don't know if thing about Brad, and then that, or this town in Indiana where they come from. I have my own responsibilities to deal with. They need to consult with a lawyer. If Indiana is an at will state and/or right to work state, there might not be much they can do.

Now, I'm a bit of a contrarian by nature. If the Internet goes in one direction, even if it's a goof, I tend to go hard in the other direction. I don't like mob rule as a rule (pun intended) and I really despise groupthink. Sometimes it makes me nearly contrarian, other times it's a heroic stance to point out to the whole wide world the error of it's ways. More than simply contradictory stances, I tend to have a highly developed moral code which I do not like to violate. Frequently, the whole world, the powers that be, even conventional wisdom has not thought things through.

Having said that, I'd like to go on record saying that I patronized Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Temple, Texas this morning completely because the Internet is going nuts. These are fine establishments Who employ a large number of hard-working American folks. I'm not going to base my purchases on the personal problems of one couple. As a southerner, bread putting their business in the street is a little distasteful. I don't air my dirty laundry and I have a regular blog as well as five radio stations in the middle of Texas on which I could rant. But I don't. Not that anyone cares to begin with.

What people might want to know is, "how was my breakfast?" It was delish!

Yesh baby! Those blueberry pancakes exploded with flavor. The sides were perfect: pork sausage patty with scrambled eggs and cheese. You really can't go wrong with any of these. My waiter, Joseph, was friendly and attentive, bringing me two kinds of syrup, blueberry and maple, both of which were very tasty. And I washed it down with a frosty mug of milk.

I even took a glass of iced tea to go. I'm sorry Nanette, there's nothing you could've done to make this meal any better. I hope you find employment soon. Maybe another chain will hire her, at this location in Amarillo.

In Temple, Cracker Barrel is located in Temple at 3687 S General Bruce Dr.just off the loop on the southeast corner next to Natural Grocers and Olive Garden.
