I saw Friday what I thought was cloud cover rendering the sky pale gray. In reality, it was partially the result of cedar pollen which trees in Central Texas and the Texas Hill Country throw off this time of year.

In no way am I looking for your sympathy, but I am in hell with this. I'm prone to allergies anyway, but this is intense.

The cedar pollen starts in one half of the state that makes its way to the other with Central Texas right in the middle.

It wreaks havoc on everyone's sinuses this time of year but authorities say this year is especially robust with cedar pollen.

So the big question is, is there anything anyone can do over the counter to fight the effects of these allergies? The answer is, sadly not much. See your doctor if you develop symptoms.
