Register for Sensory-Friendly Story Time at Temple Library
Every kid deserves to be included in the timeless tradition of story time, and the Temple Public Library is working to ensure that they are.
The library is offering a six-week sensory-friendly story time series beginning Friday, January 17. It's an inclusive program welcoming children of all abilities, especially those with special sensory-processing needs.
The small group story time will feature literacy elements that emphasize rhythm, movement, and social interaction, and it's recommended for ages 3 to 8. Sessions will take place between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
Sessions will cover:
- Jan. 17 - Colors
- Jan 24 - Shapes
- Jan 31 - Counting
- Feb 7 - Bedtime
- Feb 14 - School
- Feb 21 - Weather
Space in the group is limited. If you'd like to participate with your child, you'll need to pre-register by Friday, January 10. You can reserve your child's spot at this fantastic event by calling the Temple Public Library's children's reference desk at 254-298-5557.
Story time is such a fundamental and magical part of childhood, and it does my heart good to see that our public library is making sure every child can participate. It's one of the million and one reasons I love the Temple Public Library.
