Americans Are Reaching Their Lockdown Breaking Point
We've been in lockdown for so long I've lost count of the weeks. Four or five, maybe even six weeks at this point. It's a wonder we're still sane at all.
Apparently, not all of us are. According to a new survey by Kelton Global shared by Yahoo News, more than a quarter of us have reached our "breaking point."
More results form the survey show that 72% expect to reach their breaking point sometime in the next five weeks (meaning early June) if the orders remain in effect.
For those that already have, 29% are women, while 20% of men say the same and younger folks are more likely to be at the breaking point. 35% of those aged 18 to 24 feel the same way, while only 22% of those over 45 are saying the same.
It looks like the rise in fears can be attributed to getting back to some everyday type of activities, including:
- Going on flights (69%)
- Going to a bar/restaurant (62%)
- Using a ride sharing service (58%)
