It was an action-packed weekend for Stillhouse Hollow Lake.

Someone threw a ballistic gel dummy into the lake and scared the hell out of the fisherman who found it on Friday morning. Those fishermen called the police. As a precaution, the officers had to get other nearby fishermen to vacate the area.

One of those fishermen was William Vick who was with his granddaughter near Cedar Gap Park in Harker Heights when police asked them to relocate. Vick told our news partners at KWTX News 10 that police returned about 20 minutes after asking them to leave and said there had been an 'incident'. The Bell County Sheriff's dive team completed a search and discovered the "body". Vick told News 10, "People throw stuff off the bridge sometimes." The original story by Chelsea Edwards can be found here. The story mentions Vick alleges he has seen live animals being thrown from Stillhouse Hollow Road Overpass above the lake.

Yup. The story says that Vick alleges he has seen live animals being thrown from Stillhouse Hollow Road Overpass above the lake. Bad enough we have ballistic gel dummies floating around in there, but now it's also a dumping ground for unwanted animals?

Wait, there's more! A few hours later at the exact same spot, a kayak overturned and the people in it could not be located. Their life vests were found to be still in their vehicle. Turns out they had made it to shore on the opposite side of the lake. The Army Corps of Engineers launched a boat to bring the kayakers back safely.

I'm glad there was no "body" and that the kayakers got home safe, but I'm even more surprised by people throwing living animals off the Overpass! WTH? Has anyone else ever seen this happen?

Like I said, seems like it was a busy weekend out on Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
