Get Your First Look at Daniel Craig, Adam Driver, and Channing Tatum in ‘Logan Lucky,’ and Its New Release Date
Logan Lucky marks Steven Soderbergh’s return to film directing after coming out of “retirement” after his 2013 movie Side Effects, and as such it’s one of the most anticipated movies of this year. Today is a great, great day, because not only do we get our first official look at Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum, and Adam Driver’s characters, but we also get a release date that’s two months earlier than expected!
First off, we have our first official still of Craig, Driver, and Tatum looking like they’re about to perform a heist that they’re not quite ready for — which, given whet we know about the plot of the movie, is exactly what’s going on. The “hillbilly heist” comedy follows two brothers, Jimmy and Clyde Logan, who plan a complicated robbery during the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race in order to free themselves from a family curse. It sounds fantastic, and the cast is even more outstanding, with Riley Keough, Hilary Swank, Seth MacFarlane, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterston, and Sebastian Stan all co-starring.
Perfect movie? It sure might be. While Craig and Driver have made names for themselves in more dramatic roles, they’re both incredibly funny actors, as is Tatum, whose turn as a songsmith actor in last year’s Hail, Caesar! was delightful to watch. We’ve already seen some of the cast in costume on set, and it’s only a matter of time before we get even more images, and possibly a trailer on the coming months.
If you already can’t bear the excitement, we’ve got good news: Logan Lucky’s release date has been moved up from a rumored October bow, and will now hit theaters August 18.
