Killeen To Celebrate Civic Pride at Festival April 27-29

Always root for the home team. That's a good motto to have. If you're residing someplace and spending precious moments of your life there, why not show a little pride in where you live?

If that town is Killeen, the annual Celebrate Killeen Festival is the place to be April 27, 28 and 29. Festivities kick off Thursday, April 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a big party at Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Dig the live gospel music, crawfish boil, fish fry and lots of fun.

K-Fest continues April 28 with the Food Truck Competition Friday at 6:00 PM at Killeen Community Center. Meanwhile, The KTX Poetry Slam is over at Vive Les Arts Theatre, 3401 S. WS Young Drive, starting at 7:00 PM.

Saturday morning at the Killeen Community Center, take part in the Fallen Heroes 5K run. Registration for the run is open now at www.killeentexas.gov/centex.
