Beware – Killeen, Texas Residents Say Alleged Scammers Are Watching Homes
I think it’s so important that we keep Killeen, Texas safe. Being alert, vigilant, active in the community, and speaking with one another is so beneficial, especially when it comes to the wellbeing of everyone in the city.
KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN IN KILLEEN FOR SCAMMERS
I noticed in a private Facebook group that a lot of Killeen residents were very disturbed and worried about a situation they felt needed to come to the forefront so it can be handled properly. One of the residents said they'd spotted guys patrolling the area around the West Cliff/Killeen area claiming to be selling solar panels. The resident explained that the guy she spoke with made it seem as if he was just walking the neighborhood alone, but the concerned resident said it was clear he wasn't alone at all.
BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, KILLEEN
According to the concerned citizen, there was a car waiting for the man at the end of every street. Once the resident made this post, it opened a floodgate of other residents of Killeen who said they'd seen the same person and were concerned as well.
SMILE! YOU'RE ON CAMERA
The man in question has been captured on private security footage, and these stills were shared with us in hopes of making people aware that he's out there.
Maybe he is just selling solar panels, but in today's world, you really can't be too careful - especially when so many people have reported feeling uncomfortable. You don't have to answer your door just to be polite, nor do you have to speak with anyone you're not comfortable speaking with.
If you do answer the door, try to keep a door chain engaged if you can. Be sure to ask a lot of questions, including asking if the person has a business card and/or a number you can call to confirm who they are, then get back in touch with them. Do not give the person any personal or financial information, and if you get a bad feeling, close and lock the door, then call police.
Let’s keep each other safe in Central Texas and make sure nothing bad happens to any one of us stay alert.
