Child Indecency Arrest at IDEA Round Rock: Fourth Texas Educator Incident in Weeks
I am, regrettably, writing another article about a Texas educator being arrested for crimes committed against a child. I believe that it is important to get this information out to our communities even though I dread writing these articles.
This week, a principal at the IDEA Round Rock Tech was arrested for allegedly touching a student inappropriately. The principal is Aaron Freeman. Freeman is a 49-year-old man that resides in Pflugerville. Freeman was charged with "indecency of a child by contact".
The school teaches children in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade, and it has over 700 students enrolled. Idea Round Rock Tech provided a statement to KVUE saying that Freeman was arrested off campus while he was on administrative leave. They also said that they are cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation.
The police immediately began their investigation into the claims when the student reported the violation. The U.S. Marshalls were the law enforcement officers that made the arrest.
Freeman is currently being held in the Williamson County Jail, and the offense of "indecency of a child by contact is a considered a second-degree felony. Freeman has worked for IDEA Public Schools for almost eight years as the assistant principal of operations. Hopefully, he will never work with kids again if he is found guilty of these charges.
This is the 4th story that I have written in twenty-one days about a teacher in central Texas getting in trouble for inappropriate behavior with students. Maybe it's time that we come together as a community to discuss the issue, and we can try to figure out a solution.
