Killeen, Texas Hosts 1/2 MaraFun Race This Weekend

Killeen, Texas, it's not too late to register for the first half marathon in the Centex Race Series. The half Mara-FUN is this Saturday, Dec.10, at 8am, at the Heritage Oaks Hike and Bike Trail. Oh, and guess what? Same day registration is now available.

THE DEETS

Runners will be traveling from the south side of Rosewood Drive, and west on Stagecoach Road. Although there will be several intersections managed by the City of Killeen staff to allow for safe crossing, it is strongly encouraged to be mindful and careful during the event. You guys, please use caution when traveling through that area as well, because as we know, not everyone is a safe driver out here in Central Texas. I even wrote an article about it. (insert side-eye)

EVERYONE IS A WINNER

One unique thing about this race is that all runners will receive points. First, second, and third place metals will be awarded for both the female and male age group, as well as for both female and male overall winners. Everyone that finishes the race will receive a medal and a t-shirt. Are you excited? This sounds like fun. I really want to train for a 5k, but I may have to wait until after the holidays.
