BE ALERT: City Of Killeen Has Been Issued A STAGE WATER RESTICTIONS
On April 1 the city of Killeen sent a press release that the city will temporarily be upgraded to a stage 4 water conservation plan. Unfortunately, the Bell County Water Control, and Improvement District 1 announced a leak in one of its plants and the upgrade could last at least 48 hours until the repairs are completed.
KILLEEN WATER RESTRICTION IN EFFECT
Residents of the city were requested to adhere to the stage 2 water conservation plans in August but now have been labeled as critical. Outside watering is now prohibited, including washing your vehicles and refilling or adding water to water pools, jacuzzi-type pools, are not allowed. The city of Killeen says that the water and sewer division of the city of Killeen's public water work department has been preparing for a possible line break and assuring all storage tanks stay full.
Even though Killeen has a secondary supply from the Stillhouse Hollow Plant, if you need more details contact Killeen‘s Drought Contingency and Water conservation plan at www.killeentexas.gov/water conversation or call general manager, Ricky Garrett at 254-501-9243.
