Texas Tech Faces TCU Thursday In A “Must-Win” Game
It hasn't been the season that fans, coaches, or pundits thought it would be for Texas Tech Football. Before the season began, there were many predictions that Texas Tech would compete for the Big 12 Championship. Those hopes were dashed early in the season. Now fans are wondering if Texas Tech can become bowl eligible or worse yet, can they win another game?
Those questions can start to be answered Thursday night when Texas Tech hosts TCU, another team that is underperforming in 2023. Texas Tech enters the ball game with a record of 3-5 while TCU is 4-4.
The good news for Texas Tech? According to reports from the Dallas Morning News, Quarterback Behren Morton is supposed to return after missing the last game and the 2nd half of the game before that after reaggravating his AC sprain in his throwing shoulder. As we have seen since, it's hard to win in the Big 12 when you are using your third string QB.
This is a big game for Texas Tech. They need three more wins to become bowl eligible, and the schedule is tough moving forward. After TCU Texas Tech faces a Kansas team that just took down Oklahoma and they play that game in Lawrence. Texas Tech will host UCF on November 18 before facing the Longhorns in Austin on November 24.
For Texas Tech to become bowl eligible, they really need to beat TCU.
Texas Tech faces TCU Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Jones AT&T Stadium. The game will be on FS1.
