Triple DWI Bust in Texas: Police Arrest Three Drivers in Just One Hour
(Marshall, TX) - The holidays are a time for bringing family together but for some strange reason in Texas, its also a time where folks choose to get behind the wheel after one too many.
Despite all the warnings and messages about the dangers of driving while intoxicated, some people just won't listen because they believe that its a "harmless" crime that they can get away with but its the polar opposite.
With holiday celebrations and other events taking place over the next few weeks, law enforcement is expecting more drunk drivers over the road over the next few weeks and that also means that they are going to be stepping up enforcement to get these folks off the road.
According to a post from the Marshall Police Department's Facebook page, on Wednesday (Dec. 4th), police conducted three separate driving while intoxicated arrests and the wildest part about it is, they all occurred within a span of 60 minutes.
68-year-old Jimmie Ann Carter, of Ashdown, Ark.
Carter was released after posting a $2,000 bond.
53-year-old Ricky Norman of Marshall
Norman was charged with his third or more DWI and was being held on a $20,000 bond but has since been released.
29-year-old Lauren Paulk of Marshall
Paulk was also charged with assault to a public servant and was being held on a total $22,000 bond and was released.
Marshall Police are using the public announcement of these arrests as a reminder to drivers to either get a designated driver, use a rideshare service, or just STAY WHERE YOU ARE if you are too drunk to drive.
Don't risk your freedom and thousands of dollars in fines and legal expenses over the holidays trying to get home from a good time.
