Ivey has served as SFA's head man for athletics since July 2018.

SFA E-mail Confirms Ryan Ivey's Departure

Also, this morning, SFA Interim President Gina Oglesbee sent an e-mail to SFA faculty and staffers confirming the news.

In that e-mail, Oglesbee lauded Ivey for his leadership and vision. During his tenure, SFA successfully transitioned into the Western Athletic Conference. completed the state-of-the-art Loddy Naymola Basketball Performance Center, and he has been instrumental in the increase in donor engagements and financial contributions.

Oglesbee goes on to wish Ivey the best at his new job, and that SFA will soon name an interim athletic director and will also start the process of finding a permanent replacement.

Personal Thoughts on Ryan Ivey

On a personal note, I am going to miss Ryan's personality and willingness to shake hands and have conversations with anyone at any time.

I recall on more than one occasion at SFA basketball games watching Ryan climb a ladder so that he could help fix issues with a backboard or electronics. He is a problem solver and willing to get his hands dirty.

He will be missed.
