Texas Pride Shines With 4 Homegrown Quarterbacks Leading The NFL Playoffs
When it comes to talented football players, Texas is the cream of the crop. In fact, four out of the fourteen NFL quarterbacks in the playoffs this year are from the Lone Star State.
Texas Quarterbacks In The Playoffs
The NFL playoffs are set to kick off this weekend with Wild Card action on the old boob-tube. Obviously, my Dallas Cowboys are not in the playoffs, which is a sadness that I have come to accept. But as a born and raised Texan, it's good to see some of the best represent the Lone Star State.

Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes was born in Tyler Texas and went to Whitehouse High School before going to college at Texas Tech to play for the Red Raiders. Mahomes is now a three-time Super Bowl champion for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Baker Mayfield
Baker Mayfield was born in Austin Texas and attended Lake Travis High School. He spent his freshman year at Texas Tech before transferring to Oklahoma. We won't hold that against him. Baker was drafted by the Cleveland Browns and several other teams before landing on his current team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jalen Hurts
As a Dallas Cowboys fan, it pains me to put Jalen Hurts on this list, but he is a Texas boy so here we go (just messing with you Philly fans!). Hurts attended Channelview High School and played college ball at Alabama for the Crimson Tide. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles (gross) in 2020. It's worth noting that despite my hate for Philly, I think Jalen is an outstanding individual.
Matthew Stafford
Matthew Stafford was born in Florida but later moved to Dallas, Texas where he attended Highland Park High School. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions and played several seasons there before being traded to the Los Angeles Rams where he won a Super Bowl.
If I had to pick my favorite from this list, it would be Patrick Mahomes. Don't hate! He went to the same college as my daughter so I'm a little partial.
Hopefully, one of these Texas boys gets to the big dance. As a Cowboys fan, it's really the only thing I can root for this year.
