A police chief in Texas was recently arrested by the Texas Rangers on suspicion of sexual abuse of a child.

According to a report from our news partners at KWTX, Anthony Yocham, Chief of Police for Hamilton, was arrested this past Saturday by the Texas Rangers for continuous sexual abuse of a child.

A press release by the Somervell County Sheriff's Office states that on Tuesday, September 8, the department received information about a possible sexual assault on a child. The sheriff's office investigated the report and believe Yocham to be the perpetrator of this assault.

The Somervell County Sheriff's Office contacted the Texas Rangers so that they could review the evidence and case. After further investigation, the Texas Rangers found enough information to request an arrest warrant from a district judge.

Yocham was booked into the Johnson County Jail, but bonded out for $500,000. The investigation is still open and being handled by the Texas Rangers.

In April, Yocham lost the Republican nomination for Somervell County Sheriff. All I can say is I hope that this man, who the community trusted, is no longer able to harm another person.
