For the month of May the Emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance has been extended.

According to KXXV, Governor Abbott released a statement saying "Thank you to the USDA for extending these crucial emergency SNAP benefits for the month of May."

SNAP food benefits have been a major help to families all over the CTX since April of 2020. More than $3 Billion in benefits has been provided so far and with the increase the number Is set to rise.

With the U.S. Department of Agriculture giving the approval to extend the SNAP benefits eligible households will get a minimum of $95 in emergency allotments.
