The baby formula shortage in the U.S. isn't over yet, but there are signs of hope for new mothers looking for nutritious formula for their babies.

I am happy to report that that the neighborhood Walmart at at 960 E. FM 2410  in Harker Heights had a full inventory of baby formula Friday. I spoke with an associate to ask how long he thinks they'll have formula in stock. He wasn't certain. so I highly recommend visiting your local Walmart soon to see what they've got. Until the supply is more reliable, shelves will probably clear quickly.

The shortage of baby formula really took a toll on Central Texas to the point where mothers were driving far out of town and even out of the state to find their baby's food. There was even a local group on a social media where moms could trade different baby formulas with each other so they were able to still feed their children. The system of trading was actually a great idea until someone decided to tarnish that system and start scamming mothers. I wrote an article this month urging moms to be very careful because there was a scammer who was telling mothers to Cash App them money for baby formula, then not showing up to deliver.

Sadly, the shortage isn't over yet. In fact, DA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf recently told NBC News it could be another two months before store shelves are full again.

It's extremely disappointing that we're dealing with a shortage like this in the "land of plenty". In fact, Yahoo News reports that some in our government are calling for serious action to change the nature of the formula industry in the US. which is dominated by three big companies. When factories are shut down due to disgusting conditions (as the New York Times recently detailed), it costs babies their health and in some cases their lives.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
