The planet is going to get lit up in August.

Sci-Tech Universe is reporting that a meteor shower on August 12th will be the brightest in recorded human history. Of course the meteor shower that rained death down on the dinosaurs was brighter...allegedly.

This will be a once-in-a-lifetime event since the next one will not show up for 96 years.

We'll be passing through the tail of Comet Swift-Tuttle. It's sort of like driving through a swarm of gnats on your bike as a kid. Let's hope it doesn't become like driving through a swarm of bees on your motorcycle, that could be dangerous.

This will be the Perseids meteor shower. They say the best time to see it is right before dawn, depending on the phase of the moon.

Here's what it looked like last year. This is a little weak so hopefully it'll be worth it this August.

End of the World paranoia in 3...2...1...GO!
