Franklin Barbecue In Austin Closed After Smokehouse Fire
It's a pretty scary looking photo shared by The Austinot. The smokehouse at Franklin Barbecue was lit up pretty good early this morning after a fire spread up to the second floor according to the Austin Fire Department.
Franklin Barbecue shared the following status on social media once the news broke...
KXAN shared the video below with a little more information about the fire.
KXAN reports a worker was able to call the fire department shortly after the fire broke out. That person said 4 of the 7 smokers were in use when the fire started. Our prayers for the Franklin Barbecue family as they assess the damage once the rains from Hurricane Harvey let up. We hope they can get back to what they do best real soon. It's always a favorite place to visit in Austin for many Texans.
