Fort Worth Police received a call about a deceased man over the weekend, only to find some 70+ snakes in carriers inside the residence along with the body. Officer Tamara Pena said, “It does not seem that the snakes were all over the home. Family members arrived and took custody of the snakes.”

According to police it seems David Blody, 66-years-old, died of an apparent medical illness. He had worked for the Fort Worth Zoo's reptile department in the 1980's and early 90's.

All the snakes discovered inside were in the appropriate carriers which Animal Control observed before allowing the family to remove them from Blody's home.

Blody's body was discovered by a friend who had dropped by the home to check on him Saturday evening in the 4900 block of Merida Avenue in south Fort Worth.
