A Fort Hood soldier drowned Sunday afternoon while swimming with fellow soldiers at Lake Belton.

Kristen Victorin and Erin Zellar with our news partner, KWTX, reported that the drowning occurred around 2 PM at Temples Lake Park. The soldier was reportedly in his early 30's, and was swimming with three other people when he went under and never resurfaced.

The name of the soldier had not been released Sunday pending notification of family.

This news came hours after it was announced that a volunteer Morgan's Point diver died at Scott and White Hospital early Sunday morning after being injured while assisting in the search for a driver who was swept away by flood waters on Fort Hood Tuesday.
