A man that formerly worked as a teacher and coach in Keller ISD has been sentenced for stalking a student and possessing child pornography.

According to a press release from the United States Department of Justice, Ricky Lynn Badley, 45, was sentenced February 5, 2021 to 10 years in Federal prison after pleading guilty to highly disturbing behavior toward a student and her family, as well as having lewd images of children on his personal devices.

Badley was obsessed with a 16-year-old female student and repeatedly stalked the victim. The former teacher admitted to referring to the student as his “new favorite” and “little girl.” Badley also wrote false and lewd messages to the girl's family and friends.

On numerous occasions from December 2019 to April 2020, Badley anonymously mailed the victim, her parents, and her classmates numerous letters detailing fabricated sexual encounters between the victim and her teenage boyfriend.

Badley even went as far as to contact the girl's parents by letter to request that she create and post TikTok videos with sexual undertones. The letter came with the threat that if the victim and her parents did not comply and the videos were not posted by his required deadline, false and disparaging information about the victim would be released.

It was not until January 2020 that the school became aware of Badley's transgressions. Timber Creek High School requested Badley's resignation, but that did not hinder his obsession with the victim. Within the same month, the victim's mother reported Badley watching the family's home.

Despite their attempts at preventing contact, Badley continued to harass his former student. The girl even noticed Bradley pulling into a parking spot at her private athletic practice before speeding away.

Further investigation into Badley uncovered pornographic images of a toddler stored on his laptop. In court documents, Badley admitted he knew the images depicted actual minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson prosecuted the case.

Ricky Badley is currently incarcerated at Fort Worth FMC according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
