Here's something you don't get to see very often when you think of traffic stops and law enforcement. We wanted to share a big round of applause for this McLennan County deputy who took the time to comfort some small children in the middle of a drug arrest.

It's deputy Martin Arellano seen on the dash cam video entertaining two babies in the backseat of the sedan following a traffic stop in Bellmead last week.

KWTX reports Sheriff Parnell McNamara said, "It's part of our goal to protect our citizens, especially the innocent like this, and the deputy did a phenomenal job on keeping their attention on him instead of what was going on."

Arellando can be heard bringing Donald Duck and Minnie Mouse to life in the video while their father is sadly booked on drug charges. Sterling Bourne who lives in Missouri is now in the McLennan County Jail on six charges that include endangering a child, possession of THC, marijuana, and a stolen firearm. He was also busted for unlawful carry, operating an unregistered vehicle, driving without a license, and driving without insurance.

Arellano kept up his act for the kids for more than 30 minutes. You can hear the kids laughing in the video as he acts silly and sings songs for the kids.

He said afterward, "I always try to make people laugh, and at that point, I realized they're kids, it doesn't matter if you're tough." McNamara thank Arellano on Friday for showing how big the hearts of law enforcement can be.
