Credit Union Robbery Suspect Crashed, Was Arrested in Belton Thursday
A person suspected of robbing a Round Rock credit union was captured in Belton Thursday evening after crashing a car near Central Avenue.
KWTX reports that the robbery occurred at the Austin-Telco Federal Credit Union in Round Rock around 5:20 PM. Officers pursued the robber's escape vehicle until it entered northbound I-35.
Later in the evening, the getaway vehicle crashed on the I-35 access road near Central Avenue in Belton. The driver was arrested, and the East Central overpass was closed as evidence was processed.
