Belton police reported Monday afternoon that the Compass Bank on Central Avenue was robbed.

Brandon Hamilton with our partners at News 10 reports that the robbery at 313 East Central was reported shortly after 3:20 PM. A woman allegedly handed a teller a note indicating that she had a gun and demanding cash. Once she had her money, she reportedly fled on foot.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

That bank is just up the road from the old courthouse, so to add insult to injury, the robbery would have happened within eyesight of Lady Justice. That's just rude.

If you have any information that might be helpful to investigators, give the Belton Police Department a call at (254) 933-5840.

We're awaiting more information from Belton PD.
