Civilian Layoffs Coming to Fort Hood
KXXV is reporting Army civilian layoffs are coming at Fort Hood, Texas.
Commander Col. Perry stood in front of a town all meeting yesterday to talk about the force reduction, RIF, that has been charged to Fort Hood. 190 over-hires in 2016 has dropped down to 29. All 29 positions will be eliminated this year. Those staff members will get the official notification in July. The option to say on at a lower ranking position will be available for some.
Col. Perry told KXXV,
It's important that we do everything we can to be transparent, to ensure that our employees know that we're trying to provide options, provide opportunities, and just to bring it all to the table as we have this difficult discussion.
A third and final town hall will take place Friday at III Corps Headquarters at Fort Hood.
