It's a bit of a shock, but no big surprise as the winner of the Bit Tex Choice was the front runner.

The finalist were...DEEP FRIED BACON BURGER DOG SLIDER-ON-A-STICK...CARIBBEAN PINEAPPLE KORN-A-COPIA...DEEP FRIED PULLED PORK "FUNYUN" DINGS...FERNIE'S DOWN HOME CHICKEN POT PIE POCKET...FRIED JELLO...INJECTABLE GREAT BALLS OF BBQ...SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN & DUMPLINS...and STATE FAIR COOKIE FRIES.

All were tasty, but is seems this year it's not a State Fair without Deep Fried Jello.

All it takes, besides a deep fryer, is a ball of cherry jello that's been dipped in batter and then flash fried. Topped with a generous helping of powdered sugar, whipped cream and a cherry.

This concoction was created by Ruth Hauntz.

Isaac Rousso, who gave us the award-winning dishes The Fried Cuban Roll and The Smoky Bacon Margarita, won "Most Creative" with his State Fair Cookie Fries.
