Belton Traffic Advisory Issued for Leon River Bridge

The city of Belton is issuing a traffic alert for the Leon River Bridge on Waco Road.

The bridge will close Sunday evening at 7 PM and reopen at 7 AM on Monday morning (3/26). When the bridge reopens it will be down to just 1 lane for traffic.

The bridge is being cleaned and repainted so the single lane configuration is expected to last for several months. In order to help with traffic, temporary traffic lights will be installed at both ends of the bridge to control the flow of cars across the Leon.

Expect delays when crossing the bridge. Finding an alternate this weekend before the bridge closes will save you some time on Monday morning.
