UPDATE: We are happy to report that Taia Elder has been located safe and sound. Thanks to everyone who shared this story to get the word out.
A local mother is asking for the public's help finding her missing, high functioning autistic daughter.
19-year-old Taia Elder was last seen by her mother, Shauna, Tuesday night. Taia's last known whereabouts were a friend's house in Morgan's Point.
Taia was last seen wearing a black and red plaid shirt over a red tshirt, a blue Temple College jacket, blue jeans, red Converse sneakers, and a red plaid purse.
Taia's mother says the girl has Asperger's syndrome and may be in mental distress. She asked that anyone who sees Taia approach and speak to her calmly.
If you see Taia, please contact Shauna Elder on Facebook or contact either the Temple (254-298-5536), Belton (254-933-5840), or Morgan's Point (281-842-3185) Police Department.
