All-Star Elton John Grammy Salute Concert Set for January
Elton John's career in music will be celebrated by a slew of artists at a special concert called "I'm Still Standing: A Grammy Salute," to be held at 8PM on Jan. 30 at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden.
Among those who will take the stage to sing John's music: Chris Martin, Keith Urban, Kesha, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, Little Big Town and Miley Cyrus, among others. Additional performers are expected to be added to this bill. The concert will also be filmed for broadcast later in 2018 on CBS.
"Sir Elton John is an international music legend who has captivated audiences across generations for more than five decades," said Neil Portnow, Recording Academy president and CEO. "His creativity, dynamic presence, and melodic virtuosity have positioned him as a cultural icon, and the Recording Academy is pleased to honor his immeasurable contributions to the music community."
Tickets will go on sale at noon ET on Dec. 18, and are available for purchase at www.ticketmaster.com. The 60th annual Grammy Awards will be held two days before "I'm Still Standing: A Grammy Salute." Kesha, Lambert and Little Big Town are among the nominees this year.
"Elton John is an undeniable force within the music industry, and I can't think of a better musician to honor at this special Grammy salute," said Ken Ehrlich of AEG Ehrlich Ventures, producer of the concert. "We're proud to pay tribute to his artistry, and can't wait to see what the participating musicians have in store for this momentous celebration of Elton's work."
